Recently MTV released what they call the "hottest mcs" list... but the music network ranked Lil Wayne number 7, so has time in jail moved him down? Lack of new music? What?
To wit, he released the compilation album We Are Young Money in late December ‘09, two full-length solo LPs — Rebirth, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard albums chart and has since gone gold, and I Am Not A Human Being, which sold 110,000 copies in its first week of release in September — more than a handful of videos and a couple of notable collaborations. A mainstay on the Hottest MCs list, his time away precipitated a fall of five slots from last year’s #2 ranking, but MTV News’ Hip-Hop Brain Trust still voted Lil Wayne the #7 Hottest MC of 2010. Rihanna Signs With Jay-Z's Management

 

Hit R&B singer Rihanna recently dumped her management to join up with Jay-Z by signing a new deal with his Roc Nation management company. The details hit the net last night.
The singer announced Wednesday (October 20) that she will now be managed by mentor and former Def Jam exec Jay-Z's Roc Nation company. The chart-ruling singer spilled the beans to The Associated Press, saying in a statement she's "so excited to take this next step in my career." The "Only Girl in the World" singer joins songstress Melanie Fiona, spitter Wale and DJ/producer Mark Ronson as other faces handled by the management arm of Hov's multi-pronged firm. (MTV)

According to gossip website TMZ.com,  Beyonce's mother says that the rumors of her daughter being pregnant are simply not true.
Beyoncé's mom Tina Knowles just blew the lid off the story that her daughter is pregnant -- telling Ellen DeGeneres, the rumors are simply "not true."

Looks like the lack of talking about their relationship is going to have to change. Beyonce who is not one to talk about her husband Jay-Z in a romantic way (or even acknowledge or confirm that they were dating for over 6 years before they got married in 08 and then even went as far as when they got married to not wear wedding rings). Is now rumored to be popping out a baby by Jigga.

    While no reps have confirmed the pregnency (no shock what have Jay Z or Beyonces rep's acknowledge about their relationship ever asides that they are not in a relationship) the rumors are flying high as a source revealed to US Weakly "B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn't ready to be a mother just yet, She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again."

    Another source revealed that Beyonce's possible pregnancy was "a gift from God" and that the 29-year-old singer is "so happy" right now.

Rihanna Talks Nicki Minaj Collab (Video)

 

Rihanna recently spoke about her collaboration with Young Money's new first lady, Nicki Minaj, and how blown away she is by the rappers writing skills. Talkin gabout their "Raining Man" collaboration off her upcoming "Loud" album, Rihanna explained what stood out to her about Minaj's writing.

      "You know, I worked with her before on [2009's] Rated R and she was just writing me some really good ballads, and I couldn't wait to work with her again and finally have her on my record," Rihanna told Capital FM. "She has a great buzz and she has a 'thing' to her. She is a star and that's why people love her. She's also really entertaining with her visual as well as her lyrics, and she has a great melody. I'm really amazed that she can write like that. [Nicki] not only raps but she can write songs too...It was really easy actually. We were going back and forth with the texts on how we were going to get to do it because we were in two different places and had two opposite schedules."

Juelz Santana Talks Delay Of Lil Wayne Collab

Dipset member Juelz Santana recently gave an update on the long-awaited Lil Wayne collaboration album "I Can't Feel My Face," saying that politics continue to delay the release. Although he didn't give specifics, Juelz pointed the finger at the music industry for the albums failure to launch.

     "The industry is a very political business," Santana told DJ Vlad. "You know, when you're dealing with politics, a lot goes on. If you look, T-Pain and Lil Wayne's album didn't come out. T-Wayne. So, it was nothing between me and Wayne. Wayne is my brother, shout-out to Weezy, Free Weezy all day. I'm actually supposed to see him this weekend coming up -- I gotta go see him. I wouldn't even feel like it's right if I didn't go see him. I'm too close to him not to go see him and that's my homie."

Rap super-star T.I. will face serious jail time if a judge determines he broke his federal gun case probation next week because of a drug bust in L.A. over the last few weeks. A probation officer is asking for eight to four-teen months in prison, while TIP's lawyers claim the guidelines call for no more than five to eleven months, at least that's what the court papers say. Only time-will tell.

Pharrell Calls The Game Most Underrated

Just weeks ago one of hip hop's top producers Kanye West called Lloyd Banks one of the most underrated rappers out there now another top producer, Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes, is calling The Game the most underrated artists in hip hop.

      "Game is one of the most underrated emcees ini the game," Pharrell said in an interview. "Pun intended. He is, he is. I mean the things that that kid says? [He's a problem,] he really is man. West Coast mentality with an East Coast understanding. He's just, he's a quintessential emcee. I'm sorry, he's one of the best. Just because he is, you just would never know that. But that guy, and he has like maybe 30 or 40 records right now [for The R.E.D. Album]. So he's just picking the best 12. I mean, we worked on a huge body of work. Mario arrested after Assaulting Mom

 TMZ has reported that platinum selling R&B sensation (sensation? Can we call him that?) Mario was arrested in Baltimore this morning for allegedly assaulting his Mom in the appartment they share.

      According to police, Mario's mother Shawntia Hardaway -- a former heroin addict -- told cops the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant had been "throwing and damaging property" ... and pushed her around with his hands and forearms.

     Cops say they found numerous broken items inside the apartment. Including a broken china cabinet, a busted mirror and a hole in the closet door.

     Mario's mother also told police the 24-year-old singer had attacked her earlier in the week -- in which he pushed her "eight feet into a living room wall, where Ms. Hardaway hit her head on the wall."

     Mario - real name Mario Dewar Bennett - was eventually arrested this morning for 2nd degree assault. He was released on $50,000 bond.
